The international criminal court will today decide if deputy president William Ruto and radio presenter Joshua Arap Sang will be put on their defense for crimes against humanity charges. Judges Chile Eboue -Osuji, Olga Herrera Carbuccia and Robert Fremr will rule whether or not the two have a case to answer, a decision which will have a far-reaching implication on the deputy president's political carrier.
Should the judges rule that both have a case to answer , they will be put on their defense and might be requires to call witnesses. A converse ruling will lead to the collapse of the caSe and freedom for the two co-accused from the charges of crime against humanity arising from the 07/08 post election violence in Kenya.
Mr. Ruto and Mr, Sang's legal team filed the no-case to answer application last December saying that ICC prosecutor Fatou Bensouda had not built a case to have put on their defense. The application was heard in January this year but the judges blocked the defense teams from  presenting witnesses to support their arguments . However, lawyer Karim Khan for Mr. Arap sang argued  that the case have collapsed after the prosecution failed to present adequate evidence.
Today,s ruling will be posted on the ICC website at 6 Pm.
