KENYA ADOPTS NEW DRUG TO CONTROL SPREAD OF HIV

         HOMABAY COUNTY LEADS IN THE SPREAD OF HIV- SURVEY

The government has introduced a drug that will be taken daily by HIV negative people who think are at risk of HIV infection. The drug, referred to as Pre- exposure Prophylaxis will be given to only those aged 15 years and above starting next month.
Kenya is the second country to embrace the programme in Africa after south Africa. The drug has been used in US and Britain. According to Dr Martin sirengo the head of National AIDS & STI control programme PrEP is an anti-retro viral drug taken daily by HIV negative people most at a risk of HIV to reduce their chances of becoming infected.
PEP means taking anti-retro viral medicine ARV after being potentially exposed ti HIV to prevent becoming infected.Others are people who have multiple sex partners or who engage in transactional sex, victims of sexual violence or those who in the course of having sex realize the condom has burst. Also those who have had repeated treatment of sexual transmitted diseases are on Nascop's radar.
But there are conditions to be met before you can access the drugs
You must be 15 years and above and you must visit a public hospital to be tested for HIV. If you are negative, then you qualify. For suitability to use the drugs, Kenyans will also be tested for the proper functioning of their liver and kidney.
Survey shows young women of 15-24 years are accounted for all new HIV adult infections. HIV  prevalence among women is 5.6percent. About a million Kenyans are on anti-retro viral drugs. In 2015 Homabay led in new infections at 10,625, Kisumu 9,699, Migori 5,619 and Nairobi at 4,981.

A family yesterday lost their mother Gladys wangui wanjohi 71, in a fire menace that was resulted by a candle that fell off and burned a house and the woman.

The family of Barton Wanjohi in Ndurutu Village Nyeri County lost one of their own in the dawn of a Sunday morning. In what was a dramatic candle flame that fell off causing fire to engulf into the television that was around, and it broke into flames and burned the room extending the wrath to the bedroom.

Barton wanjohi who heard the heat and smoke tried to rescue his wife Gladys but due to the fierce flame that lead to his suffocation couldn’t manage. Gladys wangui was burned alive by the time his son Joseph wanjohi who stays in a nearby house arrived.

 “By the time I arrived in my mother’s house, there was smoke all over and I could not manage to get in. We tried to put the fire off using sand and water by the help of neighbors but my mother had already succumbed. “

Barton was admitted to Mathari mission hospital with burned injuries while his wife was taken by the police to Tumutumu mortuary. Neighbors said that electricity had gone off for a week and even after contacting Kenya Power Company, they could not pick their calls..

Those who visited the scene included area chief Wambugu Assistant chief Wachira and church Leaders.

Its not the first time such an incident occurs where the power management absconds their duty of ensuring power is supplied effectively. I think the reason is because of monopoly of power. There isn't any other competitor in the sector and these allows them to do what they want. The company should come out clear and tell us where they were in the last seven days and the reason behind their reluctant to picks calls from the villagers.

Between the year 2007- 2013, there were just a few owned choppers by politicians in Kenya. The leaders i knew well and who owned choppers were Raila Odinga, Peter kenneth, Simeon nyachae  and Gideon Moi.
They are known because of their influence in politics and their healthy bank balances. After the promulgation of the constitution that saw the transition from centralized to decentralized government where there were to be 47 counties under the watch of Governors, Many politicians fought tooth to nail to secure a place as the first governor in every county. Many did not understand their role and the money that would be poured into the county for development. Under the devolution, Governors were supposed to manage county funds under the MCA'S who would play the role of oversight. In Nairobi county for instance, in the financial year 2013-2014, the county government got 7 billion from the national government. The amount went on increasing up to 12 billion and every coin was supposed to be managed by the governor.
I just wanted to give you a short description of how management of the county monies is supervised. Since devolution was enacted, we have seen many development projects, thanks to governors who are working tirelessly to ensure that. But we've also heard much looting from the county chiefs. Through senate, many governors have escaped with a whisker the shock of impeachment. Practically, the tremendous lavish life style of many governors have changed. We understand that they get a handsome pay of more than a million every month, but within 4 years in office we've seen them sky rocketing from oil guzzlers cars to choppers. For example, During the late governor Gachagua's funeral, Governors arrived with a new style every one boarding a chopper. There were more than 18 choppers packed in style having made a history since they assumed office. In few words, the governors were sending a clear message that in the county government, there are monies to support and maintain a chopper that is worth more than Sh.12 billion. It is a definite character on our current leaders. Its that governor who opted to come with a helicopter but denied his people water a basic commodity in a certain county. Let us vote wisely and never repeat the mistake we did in 2013.😟😟😟😟

After university or college completion from different professionals, there is graduation that follows where graduands takes oath. They are also  expected to perform their duty as per their professionals. Police are entitled to protect the rights of individuals and perform their duties of making law and order. Teachers are advised to teach their kids irrespective of the background or the places they are assigned the duty. Doctors take the oath of protecting the health of individuals and saving lives. All these oaths of offices are not subject to the pay the professionals get. The most sensitive part of the professional is the oath to save the lives of individuals and protect their health.The term anesthesia in medical is the sensitivity to anyone per taking the responsibility of saving ones life. But where did the rain start beating the doctors?. This is a question many are asking. Doctors are no longer sensitive to their calling and it seems now that other than their passion to save life, they are taking the profession as money making course. 

The government may be mean which is usual to any profession, but the calling ( if at all its there) may carry a lot of weight to Doctors. Taking the strike to 94 days is a very unexpected act particularly to a basic commodity like health.I understands that money is a factor to better life, but life is more precious than money. Inhumanity is when doctors go for 3 months strike for their own gains while lifeless citizens of a country dies in the hospital. Let us have humanity and go back to work to save life and uplift our oath of allegiance to the country. God will do the rest.......Doctors hear the cry of many....it matters a lot.💚💚💚💚📍

William Samoei Ruto was born in 21st Dec 1966. He went to kerotet primary school for his primary school education then joined Wareng sec school for his O levels before proceeding to kapsabet boys.Later he was enrolled in the university of Nairobi to receive his Bsc in botany and zoology.
Ruto was the chairman of the christian union where he was ranked the best student in his class.
In the year 1992 Ruto became the secretary general of the youth for Kanu a group that was formed to drum up support for president Daniel Arap moi.

Ruto became the Mp of Eldoret north constituency in the year 1997 to 2013.In 2006 after declaring that he would contest for presidency, he was defeated by Raila Odinga and became third.Therefore he supported Rao for president in 2007 Dec. By declaring to contest for presidency, Ruto knew that he would get the kalenjins votes by big margin.After he accepted to support Raila he knew Rao could win and if he could not(They planned to disrupt and bring chaos so that they could  divide and rule)He could command kalenjins to evict kikuyus from rift valley by doing so, Ruto organized the kalenjins for a win from RAO through Odm party.
The elections were marred with irregularities and kibaki was declared the winner. Ruto is believed to have told raila not to accept the elections.This brought chaos and many were killed while scores were displaced.
Ruto and uhuru were named in the Ocampo six.This gave Ruto an opportunity to plead with the kalenjins to vote for him as a block in 2013 so that it could be hard the ICC to fix him while he was the sitting president.After 'consultation' he decided to play with the kalenjins minds once again and supported uhuru kenyatta during 2013 elections.They campaigned in the name of bringing kikuyus and kalenjins together.They were voted out strongly and the majesty Ruto became the first deputy president.
This is what in many words Ruto wanted to pass to jirongo by the name kujipanga ki siasa. He is the deputy president as well as the 2022 presidential hopeful....
